Spandana – a colorful musical night of the Tollywood industry – evoked immense response at Gachibowli stadium, Hyderabad. The programme was held to raise funds for contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards the flood affected victims in the state. The event commenced with the rendering of the Spandana’s special song. Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, NTR, Ravi Teja, Ram, Nitin, Ileana, Hansika, Bhumika, Tarun, Saikumar, Prakash Raj, Murali Mohan, Ramanaidu, Raghavendra Rao, Jamuna, Geetanjali, Khaveri Jha, Mohan Babu, Roja, Information minister Geeta Reddy, central minister Purandareswarai and scores of others belonging to film industry and political life took part on the occasion. Rajnikanth and Surya remained special attraction at the venue. Music directors Koti, MM Keeravani, Chakri, Mani Sharma, Raj Kumar, Vandemataram Srinivas, Taman, Mickey J. Mayer, Devi Sri Prasad, SP Balasubramanyam and others were prominent figures who gave resonating performance. Shriya, Allu Arjun, Mamta Mohan Das, Siddarth, Genelia and others gave live performance with their steps, much to the hooting from the audiences. Chief Minister Rosaiah arrived to a rousing reception. He appreciated the film industry for its gesture towards the flood affected victims. He recalled the services of late NT Rama Rao, the then chief minister, who collected funds for the victims of drought during 1952, besides his contribution to the Diviseema calamity in the late 70s. Dasari Narayana Rao presented the cheque for Rs. 5,28,47, 101 (Rupees Five Crore, twenty eight lakhs, forty seven thousand and one hundred one) to the CM. The entire programme was telecast live on TV9.

Genelia will be playing Dhanush’s ladylove in the Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster titled ‘Ready’.

The original directed by Sreenu Vaitla featured Ram and Genelia in the lead roles. To be produced by Mohan Apparao and Chandra Ramesh, the Tamil version will go on floors soon.

According to the producers, “there was a huge demand for the remake rights of the movie. Thank Almighty, we won the bid. The movie is a mix of action, romance and sentiments.”

Mithran Jawahar, who directed Dhanush for ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’ and the to-be released ‘Kutty’, is wielding the megaphone for this one too. The movie is currently being remade in Kannada starring Puneeth Rajakumar and Priyamani in lead roles.

Bommarillu Bhaskar’s film with Ram Charan Tej in the lead was announced in a ceremony organised some weeks ago.  Tentatively titled Orange, the film is being made by Anjana Productions.From November 25, the film will be shot in the national capital of New Delhi.  After completing the schedule in Delhi, the unit will fly to Australia.  The film will have its last schedule shot in Hyderabad. Charan is once again pairing up with Kajal Agarwal, while Bhaskar is directing Genelia for another time.  Cherry, we hope, as Orange will entice the class audience in equal measure as he won the hearts of mass audience with his second film, that is still ringing the BO registers in some 223 centres.
