Bollywood prince charming Imran is demanding extra efforts from B-town lovelies. The B-town cool dude who has finally decided to take the plunge with his long time sweet heart Avantika Malik is making our tinsel town lovelies fight their busy schedules and even boyfriends so that they can attend Imran’s mehendi bash.
Imran has invited all his co-actresses amongst others and guess what? The women are really going out of their way to be a part of it.
Imran Khan and Avantika Malik are getting married on 10th of this month and Imran is planning to host the wedding party on January 8.
Kareena Kapoor is cutting her vacation to be part of the bash. Kareena has taken a break from her work schedule to be with Saif but she is cutting short her vacation to be a part of Imran’s bash. Kareena and Imran will be seen in ‘Short Term Shaadi’.
Deepika Padukone, is on a backpacking tour in the UK right now and she too will cut short her vacation to attend his party in Mumbai.
Genelia D’souza is in town, so she is attending.
Unfortunately, Katrina Kaif will shoot with Imran for ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ only till January 6; she won’t attend, as she has some work commitments.
Also Sonam Kapoor, Imran’s ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ partner, is also flying out to start shooting for ‘Thank You’ and hence will not be available.
But in any anyways, The B-town prince charming has definitely scored amongst the B-town’s lovelies.
Deck the halls, bring on those boughs of holly, warm yule logs, twinkling trees and hot chocolate and cake — for it’s Christmas today! And Mumbai’s celeb-folk are welcoming the red-letter day in a celebratory mood. “I just love Christmas,” grins actor Genelia D’Souza. “It’s the best part of the year, the festive spirit abounds and the whole community comes together beautifully!”
More than the frivolity, the prayers make up X’mas. “Just got back after mass around four this morning was so lovely! I said special prayer as there’s so much to be thankful for,” adds Genelia. Actor Malaika AroraKhan seconds that. “We went for the midnight mass yesterday and it was Azaan’s (sister Amrita Arora’s son) first X’mas so it was extra-special,” she says. The spirituality apart, exchanging gifts is part of the excitement. She informs, “Arbaaz and I have got Arhaan (their son) a yorkie ‘teacup’ pup as a present.” And did she want something special in her stocking? “Well, I’ve got loads of blessings as we have had a wonderful year, so I can’t ask for more,” she smiles.
Smoking hot Genelia hates the ‘sexy’ tag clinging on to the leading ladies of the tinsel town. She feels that these days it is a fashion to call every other girl sexy. I enjoy being the girl next door and playing roles that fit into that mould.
“Every other girl is playing dare-bare roles, so I don’t want to do that. I am happy doing regular roles than the ultra glamorous ones,” she says.
Genelia has been busy doing southern films and is also looking forward to It’s My Life with Harman Baweja and the Hindi remake of Tamil hit Kaakha Kaakha with John Abraham.
Not many know that Genelia D’Souza is a great lover of tasty foods. Recently, the actress had a whale of time relishing delicacies at Malshej Ghat, where she was shooting for a Hindi film.
“Last day in Malshej Ghat. We freaked out on the local speciality of jhunka bhakar and thecha,” she said, expressing delight at coming across delicious dishes.
Interestingly, the film she was shooting was the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Kaakha Kaakha’. With John Abraham playing the role enacted by Suriya, the movie is being made by Vipul Shah.
Down south, the actress is doing some promising projects, including the Vijay starrer ‘Velayudham’ directed by ‘Jayam’ M Raja and ‘Urumi’ directed by Santosh Sivan which has Prithviraj and Prabhu Deva in pivotal roles.
These are the days when catfights are a common thing between actresses if they work together in a film. But Genelia D’Souza and Hansika Motwani stand opposite to this infamous trend.
The actresses, who are sharing the screen space with ‘Ilaya Thalapathi’ Vijay in ‘Velayudham’, a film directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja, share a close friendship and care a lot for each other.
Sources in the unit say they could see Genelia and Hansika chatting with each other with much warmth whenever there is a break during the movie’s shoot. “They are having a blast on the sets,” sources add.
Confirming this, Hansika, who recently watched ‘Orange’, a Telugu film starring Ramcharan Teja and Genelia in lead roles, tweeted: “Saw Orange and I thought that Charan was superb. Genelia was nice.”
