The unit of Orange led by Bommarillu Bhaskar left for Australia yesterday for a two month long schedule. Some songs and action scenes will take place at Sydney. Genelia, Shazahn Padamsee, daughter of renowned ad-guru-cum-theatre personality Alyque Padamsee and pop diva Sharon Prabhakar, are the heroines.

Produced by Naga Babu and stars Ramcharan Tej. Shazahn Padamsee was recently seen in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Rocket Singh.

Shahid-Genelia’s one night out in car!

It’s all for promotion, people…..

Earlier we heard it that Shahid Kapoor will spend one night in the car that was used in ‘Chance Pe Dance’, as a promotional campaign for the film. Now the hunk will have the film’s leading lady as his company in the four-wheeler!

UTV Motion Pictures came up with this hatke idea to promote the story of ‘Chance Pe Dance’, which deals with life of strugglers.

Besides sources add that, there is a scene where these strugglers have to spend nights altogether, because they have no place to stay. Whereas Genelia said, “Our characters believe in making the most of each day which is exactly what our attempt suggests.”

The film’s insiders stated that they want to make this the most talked about promotional activity in Bollywood and it is being done on a major scale.

According to sources, Shahid and Genelia will be spending a full night in a small car at the Kamalistan Studios today, sleeping in the car itself! There will be vada pao vendors and khatiyas (string cot) nearby for the people.

The activity is said to go on till early Thursday morning and the lucky onlookers will get to share chai-nashta with the two stars then…

In the film, Shahid features to live in car and this time for the promotion, the actor is looking forward to be along with his co-star. “It should be fun… Genelia is quite entertaining,” said Shahid amusingly.

After a brief halt, the later half of 2009 was filled with enough memorable films. Now one can sit back to let 2010 unfold with another set of films, waiting to prove their magic at the box office.

Having successfully delivered 3 blockbusters with ‘Kaminey’, ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Dev D’ in 2009, UTV Motion Pictures is looking forward for 2010 along with its several major ventures.

UTV recently announced a dhamakedaar line-up of 4 films for the period of January - March 2010.

The slate for 2010 kicks off with ‘Chance Pe Dance’, which has been directed by Ken Ghosh and stars Shahid Kapoor, as the talented and passionate Sameer with a never-say-die attitude and Genelia, as a beautiful and spirited choreographer, Tina. The film will have a worldwide release on 15th January.

Creative films, even more creative promotions! Films these days don’t seem to compromise on anything when they want to promote themselves, that to different in unique style…

The marketing team of Shahid-Genelia starrer ‘Chance Pe Dance’ have come up with really hatke idea. Going by the story of the film that features Shahid living a car, the promotional campaign will make use of this four-wheeler. And not only that, Shahid will in fact live in it… that too for two days!

“Marketing the film is very important and everyone needs different ideas,” said sources, “It’s very difficult to convince Shahid to do something, but he approved of this idea. We will mostly be using an old Maruti 800, which Shahid has used in the film. He will actually stay in the car and even have meetings inside the car. The event will take place in January, days before the film’s release.”

However this is just one of the many plans for promoting the film and nothing has been finalised as of now, said sources close to the productions.

‘Chance Pe Dance’ is bannered under UTV Motion Pictures and directed by Ken Ghosh.

‘Chance Pe Dance’ had been on the shelf for quite sometime after which it is now on the track, right in its post-production works. The film had undergone initial hiccups concerning the leading leady and title problems. The film was earlier titled as ‘Yahoo’ and had Jiah Khan. The gal said to have shot for 20 days after which she was unceremoniously removed from the film and the director had taken pains to edit the fresh version with Genelia D’souza. But recently Ken Ghosh found out a fault in the new copy quite recently.

During a trial run of the film for the cast and crew, they said to have noticed Jiah Khan in the background in one of the songs. Ken Ghosh panicked and had asked the operator to rewind the shot to confirm what they had seen.

“He was disappointed as he could not edit the shot as it was part of the song. The technical error can’t be reshot as they can’t make the set and get the same dancers back for the song. In fact, all the portions that Jiah had shot for were chopped or Genelia was replaced digitally,” revealed sources.

It seems the team now are in a fix as to how Jiah can be removed from the song. They are thinking to either pixilate the portion where Jiah is visible or erase her from the frame. In either case, it will be a creative liberty, sources added further.
