Genelia finished shooting for Naa Ishtam

Genelia has successfully wrapped up shooting her part in the movie Naa Ishtam which has been under production from some time. Both Genelia and Rana have been working hard and gave their work in double shifts to wind up the film as quickly as they can.

More prints for ‘Velayudham’, to be remade in Hindi?

Aascar Films V Ravichandran’s Diwali offering, ‘Velayudham’ with Vijay on-board as protagonist has been well-accepted by Vijay fans who are happy with his larger than life image.

Now the latest is that, the makers of this film that is being screened at more than 500 theatres across the state are planning for releasing more prints due to the pressure and response from fans!

‘Velayudham producer Aascar films V Ravichandran is happy that his film has made a huge box office hit this Diwali. In fact already Bollywood has approached the Velayudham film producer for the Hindi rights for a great deal’, says an inside source.

‘Velayudham’ featuring Vijay, Hansika Motwani, Genelia D’ Souza has music by Vijay Antony and showcases a commoner turning a messiah for the masses, all for common good.

Genelia, Hansika opposite Dhanush?

Life is all about permutations and combinations. Here we have something to prove it. Dhanush, who romanced Genelia D’ Souza in ‘Uthamaputhiran’ and Hansika Motwani in ‘Mappillai’, is expected to share the screen space with both the actresses in his next venture ‘Mareesan’.

Interestingly, this is not the first time for Genelia and Hansika to work together, for they are the leading ladies in the upcoming Deepavali release ‘Velayudham’. There were reports that there was misunderstanding between the two on the sets of the Vijay-starrer.

However, both actresses denied it saying they have equal screen space and they are good friends. Their claim would become true if it becomes official that Hansika and Genelia are the heroines of ‘Mareesan’, directed by Chimbudevan of ‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi’ and ‘Irumbukottai Murattu Singam’ fame.

Touted to be a fantasy adventure flick, the shooting of ‘Mareesan’ is expected to start soon. Dhanush, who is currently working for ’3′, a film directed by his wife Aishwarya, is looking forward for the release of ‘Mayakkam Enna’, directed by elder brother Selvaraghavan.

Naa Ishtam shoot in Hyderabad

A few action sequences will be shot on Rana Daggubati and others in the third schedule of Naa Ishtam. The schedule which is beginning today will be wrapped up on the 5th of November. Genelia is paired up with Rana in this youth-oriented movie.

Directed by Prakash Tholeti and produced by Parachuri Kirit, the film is being music-directed by Chakri. Brahmanandam, Harshvardhan, Nasser, Raghubabu, Ahuthi Prasad, Ali, Ajay, Master Bharath, Uttej and Chitram Sreenu are playing sidekicks in the movie.

Describing their movie as a “feel-good” entertainer, the makers say that the film has got an item song.

This is the first time that Rana is acting in a film of this genre.

It’s now ‘Rock The Shaadi’ for Abhay-Genelia

Ekta Kapoor’s next production, tentatively titled ‘Shaadi Of The Dead’ was much talked one for being India’s first zombie comedy film which stars Abhay Deol and Genelia D’Souza in lead. Latest we hear that the project has finalised its title as ‘Rock The Shaadi’.

Sources revealed that in fact the producer was not satisfied about ‘Shaadi Of The Dead’ and she was keen to have a better title before the movie’s shooting starts. So for this, Ekta threw open the challenge to the entire team asking if anyone could come up with a new title. Finally it was Abhay who came out with apt suggestion, since he is deeply involved with the movie and its concept.

‘Rock The Shaadi’ will be helmed by ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ famed director Navdeep Singh.

Velayudham special from October first week

Aascar films’ Velayudham with Vijay is heading for a big Diwali release where it will take on Suriya’s 7 Aum Arivu and Dhanush’s Mayakkam Enna. The makers are planning to promote the film in a big way and the publicity campaign will get underway from the first week of October.

A song video will be released as well as a slick new trailer. The audio launch for Velayudham was held recently and the tracks are a smash hit and there has been record sales

‘Velayudham’ nearing completion

Genelia’s upcoming film with director M Raja is in top gear and nearing completion. Sources close to the film’s team have revealed that the team, all inclusive of its lead stars along with their captain, have left for Kashmir where a song will be shot in the picturesque landscape of the Dal Lake, Srinagar. This is the only song that needs to be completed, and once it is done, the entire film’s shooting will be wrapped up.

The song will be filmed with the lead ladies in the film Genelia and Hansika vying with each other trying to flirt with their sweetheart, in this case Vijay, according to reports. This film which sees Vijay as a superhero has created a lot of flutter amidst his fans, who have never seen their icon in such an avatar, who are eagerly waiting for the film to release.

Sources also indicate that the shooting of this song, which was originally planned to be shot overseas, will be wrapped up in a couple of days after which the director will give all his attention to completing the post-production work and readying the film for a Diwali release!

Velayutham will not go out of Aascar’s hands

Vijay-starrer Velayutham’s budget has crossed beyond the producer’s expectations. With another song yet to be shot, the budget is expected to go further up. Due to the high costs involved, it is hard for producer Aascar Ravichandran to find distributors and therefore he has decided to take up the responsibility of distributing the film himself.

Aascar has done that before and it is not new for him. So, Velyutham will not leave Aascar’s hands, sources report.

Ajay gets Asin, Genelia for Abhishek

Buzz is that Rohit Shetty’s ‘Bol Bachchan’ has finalised its cast.

According to our birdies, the out-and-out comedy earlier had Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan on board while the hunt for their leading ladies was on. Now it is said that Asin and Genelia D’Souza have been signed on respectively.

It is said that Asin and Ajay share the same endorsement company which helped the actress to bag this film. However, some sources share that that’s not the case and Asin is just impressed with the script while she is yet to give her nod for the project. On the other hand, the production team believe that Abhishek along with Genelia seems to be quite fresh pair.

Alleged to be inspired from Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s popular 1979 film, ‘Bol Bachchan’ expected to starts its shooting from August 20 at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

Genelia on Velyudham climax

Genelia has said that she is back to the Velyautham sets for the climax scene. The actress has said that director Jayam Raja has planned an elaborate climax and is filming it with the lead stars. Vijay, Genelia, Hansika and others are shooting together and this shooting is expected to go on for a week or so before Raja wraps it up completely.

Soon after Velayutham shooting is over, Vijay will move over to Nanban shooting which is currently going on in Europe.

With Velayutham shooting reaching the final stages, the audio launch and film release dates are expected to be announced very soon.
